Decided to go to Mustafa to get materials for one of our artsy assignment (long story and long day). We ended up at City Square and made a split-second decision - try out the Paddington House of Pancakes there. I actually tried it a few times back in KL and I liked it (well, most of the dishes anyway). PHOP is based in Malaysia and I was quite surprised to find one here in Singapore.



It was a cosy Wednesday afternoon at Paddington House of Pancakes (PHOP for short).

*Schooling in LASALLE: CNY holidays in SG is already short but no, students have to report back on the 3rd day of CNY and arrange replacement classes with the tutors.

...

Anyways.. back to PHOP.





The Carbonara was actually quite good, with a soft-centered egg and turkey bacon bits. I was craving for pasta for some weird reason so.. no regrets. Bacon bits were still crispy and the cream-based sauce wasn't nauseating like some places.





Unfortunately, the Big Treasure Box (S$15) didn't live up to its reputation. Was hoping for all fresh fruits but there were also canned peaches. Oh well.
Two of us were sharing and we still couldn't finish the bowl as it was tiring and sickening after a while. I feel that the pancakes couldn't reach their full potential and bring out the wow factor.
It was quite the disappointment.





Last but not least, our favourite of the day - Original Pancakes, stack of 3 (S$8)
Butter and maple syrup on plain pancakes. Sometimes the simple things are the best. Pancakes were fluffy and hot, with just the right combination of flour and milk.
Perfect.

It's definitely a place for small gatherings and meetups.

Might come back for more. Must try more SG food places first though (even though the conversion rate is ridiculous). :D
