Maroon 5

I fell in love with Maroon 5 last year. I mean, I liked their songs before that but after Stereo Hearts and Moves Like Jagger, I'm totally in love with their songs.

If you're not familiar with Maroon 5, here's a photo of them:



Anyway, the band now consists of (from left to right) Matt Flynn, PJ Morton, Adam Levine, Michael Madden and James Valentine.



Maroon 5's newest album, Overexposed, was released on June 26, 2012. The featured songs include "Payphone" and "One More Night".





Previously, there were only Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Michael Madden and Ryan Dusick, who formed a band called Kara's Flowers. They were then joined by James Valentine.

Ryan Dusick left the band after some injuries and was replaced by Matt Flynn. On March 2012, PJ Morton joined Maroon 5 after Jesse Carmichael went on hiatus.



Maroon 5's debut album, Songs About Jane, was released in 2002 and some of the songs in the album like "This Love" and "She Will be Loved" were quite popular then. And is still known to most now.







Their second album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long, was released in 2007. "Makes Me Wonder" peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other songs include "Won't Go Home Without You" and "If I Never See Your Face Again".







"Misery", "Never Gonna Leave this Bed", "Moves Like Jagger".. are these songs familiar to you? They are from Maroon 5's third album, Hands All Over. "Moves Like Jagger" had been one of my favorites since it was released as a single in 2011.





Now, the members. Let's go alphabetically.

ADAM LEVINE - lead vocalist and guitarist



Also a judge and coach for the American talent show, The Voice, Adam Noah Levine was born on March 18, 1979. To be frank, he has such a great voice. He was also featured in a few songs, such as "Heard 'em Say" (Kanye West), "Say It Again" (Natasha Beddingfield), "Bang Bang" (K'naan) and one of my favourites, "Stereo Hearts" (Gym Class Heroes).



JAMES VALENTINE - lead guitarist



James Burgon Valentine was born on October 5, 1978. He joined one or two bands before Maroon 5. He is currently the lead guitarist for Maroon 5.

MATT FLYNN - drummer



Matthew Flynn was born on May 23, 1970. He was supposed to be the substitute drummer for Maroon 5 after the previous drummer, Ryan Dusick left due to injuries. To be frank, drumming can get quite extreme sometimes.

MICHAEL MADDEN - bassist



Born on May 13, 1979, Michael Allen Madden is the bass guitarist for Maroon 5. According to an interview, his motto is ‘We have everything to gain and nothing to lose but boredom’, which is something I quite agree to.

PJ MORTON - keyboardist



Paul Morton Jr., born on March 29, 1981, stood in for Jesse Carmichael after the latter went on hiatus for his own reasons earlier this year. He was confirmed as an official member of Maroon 5 after that.



And, GREAT NEWS! They will be touring to promote their latest album, "Overexposed". They'll be here in Malaysia on 20 September 2012! ♥
