"When Plan A fails, we'd still have Plan B!"
OK. Just kidding.

The particular Plan B I'm talking about is a restaurant. I'm not sure whether it's available in other states in Malaysia but I'm positive that there are a few in the KL-Selangor area.

Gosh. I LOVE the vintage-y kind of look. It's pretty awesome. And cool too.

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade."
Make the best out of life. =)

No. This is not alcohol or any kind of tonic. This is just the fancy sky juice. (a.k.a. plain water, H2O, whatever you want to call it)

Trust me. You'll never get kids to drink water any easier than this. You'd just have to pour drinkable water into these bottles and they'll just drink it. My brother and sister never liked plain water this much. It's fun for them anyway.

For starters, Deep Fried Calamari. It comes with harissa mayo, which tastes a little like some kind of spice. The calamari was OK. I've tasted better ones but this is alright.

Four Root Veggie Crisps. These are more like chips. Sweet potato and some other stuff I don't know the names to (and never had the eagerness to find out). It may not taste good at first, but you'll have to eat it slowly to get the taste right.
Chew. Slooooowly.

Main course up next. I went with a simple Carbonara. Turkey ham and mushroom. Yum yum. The cheese adds in some flavour. The pasta was also well-cooked. Not stringy at all.
I'm not a huge fan of cream sauce so I shared a little with my bro and sis. Some people like cream sauce so they are OK with it but seriously, I feel a little nauseated if I had too much cream sauce.

Asian-styled Golden Soft Shelled Crab. With butter sauce, chilli padi, curry leaves and chilli flakes, there's a mild spiciness to this superb dish. It's not too spicy but if you don't like chilli and stuff, I'd suggest you skip this. The soft shell crab was great! Crispy and a little spicy. And not too salty too.

And here's dessert: Apple Crumble Tart. Crunchy apple tart with a single scoop of vanilla ice-cream made the meal an unforgettable one. Separately, it doesn't taste so good. But when you put them both together, it is just plain AWESOME.
I have such a sweet tooth. I know. :D

Hahahaha. You can see that the apple tart is tempting my brother.

Anyway, while waiting for dessert to be served....

Playing with light and shadows.

Sheesh. Mother and daughter emo-ing. Seriously. Maybe they caught it from me? :X

The service was dang good. I've never been to another restaurant that has better service than this. Well, that is saying something because I've tried fine dining and stuff. The staff are VERY friendly and VERY helpful. They even offered by brother another glass because he dirtied his with cream.

I'd definitely go for another meal there! Mom said so too.

Here's the Plan B site. You can view the locations and the menu there too.

Had a lovely day with Xiu Yu last Wednesday. I know it's pretty late to write this but, why not?

Anyway, we went to e@Curve for this promotion. The Cathay Cineplex's Student Privilege promo. We've got 2 platinum tickets at RM25! Yes, the only catch here is, you've got to show your student ID. (you'd have to look like a student)

You'd get to chill at the VIP lounge an hour before your movie time. We lost ourselves shopping and returned to the lounge at the last 10 minutes. Too bad.

Magazines, computers for onlining, free flow drinks, super comfy couches..

View from the window seat.

Hah. A little blurry but this is what the Platinum Movie ticket holder looks like. With Xiu Yu holding it.

We got there a little late so the lights were off when we went it so I snagged this photo from the Internet. The seats are something like this, with a coffee table separating the two extremely comfortable seats.

You'll also get to order food or drinks from the counter and they'll serve it to you. You can also rent pillows and blankets.
Word of advice: It is quite cold in there.

What to watch?

Another round of sarcasm from the newest James Bond movie, Skyfall.

Some of my friends watched Skyfall before me but they said it was quite boring. Maybe it's my love for classic action movies, or maybe it's James Bond, or maybe it's because I was enjoying myself in the platinum movie suite, but I have to say, I LOVE THE MOVIE.

"Sometimes, the traditional ways are still the best."
Well, I'm probably off a little, but the meaning's still there. The quote really brought up something in me.

It's been, how long, 4 years? after the last James Bond film, Quantum of Solace and 6 years after Casino Royale in 2006. It also coincides with the 50th anniversary of the first James Bond movie, Dr. No, in 1962. And I was so looking forward to this movie after I saw the trailer in the cinemas.

This is Daniel Craig's third movie as James Bond. I watched all three of his James Bond movies. Well, technically, the first James Bond movie for me was Casino Royale. It was such a long time ago. Plan to re-watch it sometime soon.

To keep it simple, in the movie Skyfall, M was being attacked by a former MI6 operative, Raoul Silva. Agent 007, a.k.a. Bond, is in to investigate the reasons behind the attack. It turned out that Silva is back for revenge on M because she let him fall into the hands of the Chinese, who tortured him badly.
And the final battle? It took place in Bond's old home. Full of explosives. :D

Is it true that every Bond movie has its own Bond girl? In this movie, Bond met Severine during his "little trip" to Macau. Unfortunately, they don't have many scenes of her.

Why the name Skyfall? Skyfall refers to Bond's childhood home, Skyfall Lodge. "I never liked this place anyway," said Bond. Perhaps this was because the place reminded him of his parents which left him at a young age?
In my opinion, the house was pretty cool, with secret passages and stuff. I mean, there's hardly any like those in my time. I've been imagining how awesome would it be to have a secret passage built into my house. x)

The cast:

Daniel Craig as James Bond. Dang, absolutely LOVE his piercing blue eyes.

Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva, the main antagonist in the movie. He looks familiar somehow..

Berenice Lim Marlohe as Severine.

Judi Dench as M, head of MI6. This is to be her seventh and last appearance in the James Bond movies.
She's kind of grandma-looking? I mean, she's like one of those kind and caring people.

Ralph Fiennes, as Gareth Mallory. I didn't notice it at first but yes, he's Voldemort from Harry Potter.

Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny. Another charming lady in the movie.

Ben Whishaw as Q, the quartermaster.

And the movie theme song, Skyfall, from Adele. LOVE IT TOO.

Had such a wonderful time watching the movie. and those comfy comfy comfy couches. x)

MJ doesn't stand for Michael Jackson in this case. It stands for Malaysia-Japan. To be precise, it's an exchange program between my school and Japan's Hakuo High School which took place in 31 October this year. Same day as Halloween. :D

Yes, I was a little nervous because I don't speak Japanese well and I was wondering what my partner would look like.

Applaud applaud. Why? Because the visitors are here already. Oh gosh, did I mention that I was nervous? Turned out that I did.

After everyone was settled down, it turned out to be something like this. You might spot me somewhere in the crowd if you have keen eyes. Or you happened to know where I sat.

-after speeches and after both schools exchanged souvenirs-

Our school's brass band performed for the guests. Nice batik clothes and what a wonderful performance.

Next up, Japanese drums performance from Hakuo High School. I was expecting guys to go up but it turned out to be an all-girls performance. I was a little shocked but they played quite well too.

Now a look at my partner, Shiori-san ("-san" is pretty much a more formal way to address someone in Japanese). She's a beauty and has a dollish face but unfortunately, she's a shy girl. She's shy, I'm shy, we're both shy. :(
She doesn't speak much English, I don't speak much Japanese. Kind of disastrous, if you ask me.

But I still managed to get her into a little polite conversation. Her hobbies, the weather in Malaysia.. OK, I just managed to get her to talk a little. She'll just smile and nod off stuff she doesn't understand. ._.
You have to admit, she's kind of elegant and more like the classy type. Drawing, painting, music? Definitely.
Phyn Ping said Shiori-san and I are of the different kind, meaning I'm not elegant and stuff. Darnit.

Anyway, she likes the 24 drums. She spent more than 10 minutes with the drums. Well, I like drums too. Therefore, ta-da! We have a common interest. Haha. She plays piano too. Voila, another common interest! I'm serious. *serious face on*

At the diabolo booth. Forgotten to turn the flash off and this is the result of it.

We had booths from both our school and Hakuo High School in the Kong Chen Hall.

And lunch at the school canteen. We shared a table with some of my classmates and their partners. You can't find me in this picture anyway. I can just see part of my head. Haha. No comment on the food. Edible is enough. :D

Batik painting. It was quite awesome. Students and teachers from both schools helped complete it.

Time for a group photo and a final goodbye. :')
This is not exactly all of us. We were divided into three main groups. There were 200+ students from Japan in total. When's our turn? I havn't been to Japan :D

Shiori-san said that she would e-mail me but I havn't received any so far. I asked her for her email but she said that she'd forgotten it. :(

Shiori-san LOVES rabbits. That's why I purposely attached a sticker of a rabbit on the note I gave her.
"Rabbits are cute" Well, I couldn't find anything else to write..

This is not a goodie bag. I repeat, THIS IS NOT A GOODIE BAG. These are my gifts for Shiori-san: A rabbit figurine, a notebook and some sweets.

In return, I got 2 phone decorations. A Hello Kitty with Mount Fuji and a Rilakkuma with a.. bowl of ramen? I have to admit that they are pretty cute. x)

A note from her. :3
Cute rabbit. Glad she had fun. I was afraid that she'd be bored or something. I was friendly, but I didn't know what to say to her most of the time we spent that day. Guess we were just being politely friendly? If we meet again, I seriously would just give her a hug, there and then. :D

*most of the photos from my school's FB page, mainly those which doesn't feature Shiori and the presents. x)

Familiar with Doraemon?

Doraemon, the blue robotic cat from the future.
Doraemon, the cat which I enjoyed watching on TV.
Doraemon, a cat that has amazing techie stuff.

Anyway, it's 100 years before the birth of Doraemon this year. Yep, the birth year of this particular robot is 2112.

Accidentally stumbled upon a Doraemon exhibition at Sunway Giza on Sunday. Actually, my bro and I just wanted to follow my mom for her facial treatment and to shop for groceries.

After my mom left us for her facial, we decided to walk around for a while. We walked out..
And we were like, OMG! There's a huge Doraemon there!!

Unfortunately, I was broke at that time (am broke now too) so I did not buy anything but just browsed around.

Turned out that it was part of Memopillow's "We barter, We care" project, in conjunction with the celebration of 100 years before the birth of Doraemon.
Unfortunately, the bartering event was a day before. It's just too bad. I've not been to Sunway Giza for ages.

Model for the day: My cute but annoying bro. :D

There were also tons of Doraemon merchandises. Plushies, stickers, food containers, clocks, T-shirts.. You name it.

Anyway, if you're not too familiar with Doraemon, you may notice that there are also yellow versions of Doraemon, with ears. This is because Doraemon was originally yellow in colour and he also had a pair of ears. A robotic mouse bit off his ear and he was simply depressed. He then drank a potion and he turned blue as he wept. That also explains why he's afraid of mice.
