The Avengers (the movie) :D

18:11

Ironman, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow all together in a movie. How cool could that be? Like everyone else, I can't take the suspense and watched the movie sometime yesterday. Of course, the cinema hall was full as expected.

The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon

I've never actually watch any of the previous movies from Marvel but I think that I'll be watching them sometime in the near future. Actually, I wanted to watch some of the movies but there wasn't enough time then. -too bad-

Anyway, the story starts when the Tesseract, which held a continuous power source was stolen by Loki (Tom Hiddleston) from S.H.I.E.L.D. He then managed to influence the mind of Hawkeye, Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and physicist consultant Dr. Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard). He made them turn against S.H.I.E.L.D. and work for him instead. [in case you're wondering, they came back to their senses in the end]

The director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) then recruited Ironman Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr), Captain America, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), the Hulk, Dr. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and the Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) and formed a team [well, they are not very willing to cooperate until an agent called Phil Coulson was killed by Loki] to stop Loki from bringing the Chitauris, an alien race, to Earth through a portal opened by the Tesseract. Loki's brother, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), who also happened to be a demi-god like Loki, joined the team and they called themselves The Avengers.

Thor and Captain America fending off the Chitauris after they entered through the portal

There are some hilarious scenes in the movie too. Well, for one, the funny remarks by Stark and.. (oh well, best not to spoil it for you if you havnt watch it. Let me drop you a hint, one of the funniest parts in the movie involved the Hulk and Loki)

I like the way the Avengers fought together and they were like, so awesome! Each of them had their own specialty. Personally, I kind of like the Black Widow, who can manipulate someone to tell one's plans without noticing the information they are giving away. She is also bold and has her own way of doing things.

The cast:

Robert Downey Jr as Tony Starks, a.k.a. Ironman
"Genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist" in the movie, Robert Downey is also starred in several other movies like Ironman (obviously) and Sherlock Holmes. (may I add that I enjoy his snide remarks in the movies?)

Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America
Chris Evans also played Johnny Storm, better known as the Human Torch in Fantastic Four. Well, to tell the truth, flames suit him well as he is quite hot, with all the muscles and looks.

Chris Hemsworth as Thor
If you read through my previous posts, you may notice that there was a guy called Liam Hemsworth who played Gale Hawthorne in the Hunger Games. Well, this guy with the same family name here is his elder brother. He also played George Kirk in Star Trek. He will also appear as Eric the Huntsman in a movie which will be released in 1 June this year, Snow White and the Huntsman.

Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye
My mom was talking about this guy after we finished the movie. She was like, "Where did we see this guy again? He looked familiar". After a little work with the search engine, it turned out that he played William Brandt in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (we watched the movie, Platinum Class at Cathay Cineplex and of course, enjoying the movie with the reclining chairs and stuff. Well, that's another story..).

Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. the Black Widow
She started as Laura Nelson in the comedy, North when she was 10. And, I think I saw her when I was watching Home Alone 3, which showed quite frequently last year on Disney Channel. She also voiced Princess Mindy in The Spongebob Squarepants Movie. Another recent work of hers that I've watched is We Bought a Zoo (she played Kelly Foster, the head zookeeper).

Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
Samuel Jackson appeared in more than 100 films and had a role in several famous movies like Jurassic Park and Star Wars. Remember Frozone, the ice guy from the Incredibles? Yep, that's his voice.

Mark Ruffalo as Dr. Bruce Banner, a.k.a. The Hulk (when he got excited or enraged)

Tom Hiddleston Celebrities attend the "Thor" Los Angeles premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.
Tom Hiddleston as Thor's brother, Loki

By the way, I heard that there'll be a sequel to this movie and also Ironman 3, Thor 2 & Captain America 2.
Well, I dont know about you but I'll be sure to watch them. :D
Guess that's all for now~ x)
